Learn About Causes Of Acne

Introduction

The acne problems are worldwide and it is affecting the different people at different ages in their life.  Acne is caused when the oil and other cell debris is clogging up the pore and then it causes the duct to swell and causes redness and swelling.  In the following article we are going to discuss the causes of the acne problems.

Causes Of Acne

1.Genetics: A person might be predisposed to acne from genetic predisposition.  There is a much greater chance for the children to have acne if their parents had acne in their teenage years, as the genes carry information from the parents to children.  This form of acne cannot be avoided until and unless the advancement of medical sciences leads to the deletion of the culprit genes.  This form of acne cannot be avoided.

2.Hormones:  There is production of the androgen hormones during the adulthood years and this hormone activates the stimulation of the oil producing glands in the skin.  This activation just leads to the increased production of the hormones and this leads to the clogging of the pores and in turn results in the causation of pimples and blackheads.  It must also be noted that hormonal changes that occur during the time of periods or when the birth control pill is stopped can cause acute flares of acne.

3.Stress:  This is not a proven fact whether the stress causes the initiation and formation of acne lesions, but this can surely aggravate the acne pimples and can also aggravate any condition of the skin that you are suffering from.

4.Diet:  It is not surely known that the diet can cause the formation of acne pimples as is the case with stress, but there are some experts who believe that the allergies to certain foods can cause the trigger of the acne problem in an individual.

5.Washing The Face Too Often:  You must know that your acne problem will aggravate if you will wash your face too often as it will dry your skin and will clear off the right amount of oil that is needed to protect your skin from environment.

6.Selecting Greasy Skin Care Products And Oily Cosmetics:  It is imperative that you do not buy the cosmetic products that are greasy and oily because they will clog the pores and then will make your skin more prone to acne.

7.Medications:  Acne can be caused as a side effect of certain drugs, which include barbiturates, seizure medication and steroids.

8.Plugging Oil Ducts:  Plugging of oil ducts is the major cause of the causation of acne.  You must make sure that you adopt the right skin cleansing techniques to prevent blockage of the ducts.  If you do not take the proper care, the ducts will get plugged and the oil gets trapped and just leads to the formation of blackheads or whiteheads.  The plugged ducts then allow the germs to have the right ground for them to grow and multiply and thus produce chemicals that becomes the cause of acne.  There is then the development of blackheads or whiteheads and can turn into red and bumpy and ultimately turns into acne pimples.

Misconceptions Of Acne

Introduction:  There are a lot of misconceptions about acne and in this paragraph we are going to shed some light on them.

1.The most common misconception about acne is that it is caused by the foods that you eat, and the foods that are stated to cause the acne are greasy foods, chocolate, as well as soft drinks that falls in that list, but there is no proven study to confirm this.

2.The blackhead is often considered as a blemish caused by dirt, which is not true at all.  Blackhead is formed by the reaction of the clogged pore with the air.  You must know that no matter as to how much you care for the skin, the acne blemishes can still occur.

3.There is another misconception in which it is considered that acne is contagious, but in reality it is not.

4.Another misconception that has occupied the minds of a lot of people is that sexual thoughts is a major cause of acne, but there is no data to suggest that it makes the cause of the acne, but it can cause the hormonal imbalance, but still is not a cause of acne.

What Causes The Acne To Get Worse

There are a few things that you must not do, as doing that would push the oil out from the ducts onto the adjacent skin of the pimple and this then causes the redness and swelling that can cause secondary infection of the acne lesions.

You must also take care that you are not going to scrub your skin harshly and if you do, it will cause irritation of the skin and prevent the contact of the headbands of other things to come in contact with the skin of the face as it will irritate the skin more and would aggravate acne.

Summary

You must always be careful about your skin care as it will just prevent the formation of the acne lesions and would lessen the chances of having that problem in the future.  Skin care is not one time thing, but a discipline that you must follow.
